Cargo Made-EZ, Maggie and Crimson Medical Solutions Named Winners of Boise Entrepreneur Week Pitch Competition

BOISE, Idaho (Oct. 19, 2021) –– Cargo Made-EZ, Crimson Medical Solutions and Maggie were respectively named the winner and runners-up of Boise Entrepreneur Week’s Two Minute Drill pitch competition. Cargo Made-EZ took home $25,000 and was automatically qualified to participate in the third season finals of 2 Minute Drill.

Cargo Made-EZ, founded by BYU-Idaho student Adam Stock, developed a motorized strap system that integrates into truck beds and flat-bed trailers to help prevent theft, liability and cargo damage. Poorly secured loads cause companies to lose millions of dollars annually in compliance fines, damages and theft. Aside from the monetary loss, it also creates a major safety hazard for drivers.

Cargo Made-EZ will now compete in the third season finals of 2 Minute Drill, which will air on Bloomberg Television Network and Amazon Prime Video this January. Hosted by investor David Meltzer, 2 Minute Drill features five contestants who have two minutes to make a successful pitch to a panel of judges, with $50,000 being awarded to the winner.

Because Maggie and Crimson Medical Solutions were tied as the runner-up, the event organizers awarded both companies $5,000 each in cash prizes.

Crimson Medical Solutions, founded by Stephen Bone, provides a color-coding and labeling device for intravenous lines. According to the company, an estimated 28,000 people die in the U.S. annually because of errors that occur when incorrect medications are given intravenously. By providing a streamlined organization system, Crimson Medical Solution’s product helps improve patient safety, nurse satisfaction and workflow standardization.

Maggie, founded by Jenny Anderson, prepares women for sales roles in the tech industry by providing training, placement and community services. Maggie’s founder experienced incredible growth through her tech career, leaving behind a $30,000 annual salary as a retail manager to work her way into a sales director position making more than $250,000 a year. By training other women to follow in her footsteps, Anderson hopes to help companies scale faster while empowering diverse talent from nontraditional backgrounds.

“This year’s winners demonstrated that problem-solving is one of the most important aspects of entrepreneurship,” said Tiam Rastegar, co-chair of Boise Entrepreneur Week and Trailhead executive director. “We’re excited to see how their innovative solutions improve the lives of their future customers, while creating jobs and economic opportunities in their communities.”

After including cash prizes for this year’s event, Boise Entrepreneur Week has provided more than $306,000 in funding to entrepreneurs. Perkins Coie was this year’s Two Minute Drill Presenting Sponsor and other sponsors included Alturas, Scoggin Capital Investment, TELEO Capital and Vynyl.
